CO₂ reduction cell (3-channel architecture) for operation with a gas diffusion electrode (GDE) in a three-channel configuration.
CO₂ reduction cell (3-channel architecture) for operation with a gas diffusion electrode (GDE) in a three-channel configuration. The standard configuration includes an Ir-MMO-coated expanded titanium-mesh anodic current collector, a stainless-steel cathodic current collector with serpentine flow field, two polymer flow frames with mesh spacers, an electrode frame and a membrane frame.

Dimension of active area: 5 cm² (square). Cell architecture: 3 channels (L|L|G)*
The cell includes two stainless steel end plates equipped with 6 PP fluid connectors, compatible with 6 mm x 4 mm (OD x ID) tubing (alternative connector materials and diameters are available on request).²
The current collectors are equipped with 4 mm banana sockets for currents up to 25 A. For higher currents, use an M4 bolted connection with a suitably rated cable lug and cable cross-section.

Included parts in this configuration:
- 1x Anodic current collector - S (flow field: expanded Ir-MMO Mesh| material: Ti)
- 1x Cathodic current collector - S (flow field: serpentine channel| material: stainless steel)
- 2x Flow frame - S (thickness: 2 mm| flow field: spacer)
- 1x Membrane frame - S (thickness: 100 μm| material: PTFE)
- 1x Electrode frame - S (thickness: 250 μm| material: PTFE)

Alternative components:
- Electrode frame - S (thickness: 500 μm| material: PTFE)
- Electrode frame - S (thickness: 200 μm| material: PTFE)
- Membrane frame - S (thickness: 50 μm| material: PEEK)

* Fluid connector options: The standard PP fittings are suitable for operating temperatures up to 80 °C and a pH range of 0–14, except for concentrated oxidizing acids. For more demanding thermal or chemical conditions, stainless-steel, PTFE, and PFA fittings are available upon request. Please note, the stainless-steel and PFA fittings use cutting rings that remain permanently attached to the tubing once tightened.

**Frame thickness: The thickness of the membrane frame should be equal or slightly thinner than the membrane.
The electrode frame thickness should correspond to the thickness of the electrode or PTL. For compressible materials like carbon paper or metal felt please consider also the intended compression. For example, a 250µm carbon paper compressed by 20% requires a 200µm electrode frame.
